IMPROVE YOUR SELF-IMAGE
“You cannot consistently perform a manner that is inconsistent with the way you see yourself”.
The way you see yourself will influence what you say and what you do which ultimately determines what you achieve in life. Just as your beliefs can move you forward, your shadow-beliefs can hold you backward. The shadow-belief comprises of those accumulated conceptions in your head that tells you that you can’t be able, not worthy or that you will never make it. They tend to tell you that people; you can’t be the best among equals. They tend tell you that people hate you and that you are a failure in life. Sometimes it goes to the extent of telling you that indeed God hates you and that is why he overshadowed you with problems and failure.
You can’t speak death over your dreams and expect to see them come to life. Note that on one on the face of this earth can make you inferior without your permission. Today, take an inventory of your shadow-beliefs, bring in the light of God’s word, expose them and denounce them. Don’t allow them control you or decide your future for you. Refuse to translate any thought into words if it contradicts what God says. Gen. 1:31 reads “And God saw everything he had made and behold it was very good” Apostle Paul said “He hath chosen us ….. Before the foundation of the world …Eph 1:4. God knew you before you were born. He gave you the best design and filled you with special gifts and environment to excel. Then finally, he looked at your total make-up and proclaimed “very good”. Thus any thing contrary to this, whether it be thought, circumstances or people around you are from the devil and it is total fallacy. Tell yourself “I am somebody because God made me somebody” “I must succeed because God designed me succeed” “I can make it because God is working together with me to achieve the best”.
It is not what people say about you that matters but what God says about you and what you believe and say about your self now is what will come to you. You are a unique blend of gifts and characters. You are a special gift to planet earth. You have special destiny to fulfill on earth. There is a gap of which you are the only person that can fill it. You are somebody because God loves you and created you to be somebody of great value. Whether the devil or circumstances like it or not, it has to be so because God’s word has said it. So don’t fold your hands and live your dream to die. Weak up and say I can make it, put it in practice and you will things changing in your life.
APPLY THESE PRINCIPLES TO IMPROVE YOUR SELF-WORTH
1. Believe and accept God’s word that you are perfectly made. You are somebody because God doesn’t waste His time to make Human being. God made you and took a look at you and said “you are good”. Never think or speak negatively about yourself, for that puts you in disagreement with God.
2. Beef-up yourself-image by making yourself look fine outwardly. The way you look on the outside has a definite bearing on how you feel or see yourself in the inside. Thus, make up, and dress up the outside.
3. Discover your talent and calling. Try to do that which pleases you and which you excel. Make up your mind to be the best in your profession. Believe you can make it and so it will be.
4. Study the lives of successful people. Why did they succeed and try to apply those positive principles to succeed also.
5. Learn to handle critics. Instead of them discouraging you, let them encourage you. Try to determine your worth before others do it for you.
6. Mediate on your strength and abilities and learn to encourage yourself. See the good things in you and maximize your talents.
7. Decide to be the best you can be. Don’t compare yourself with anybody. You are unique and created to be the best.
8. In your dealings, determine to please God and rather then please man.
9. Don’t allow your short-coming or failure to weigh you down. Neglect them. Find out why you failed and try again. Believe you can succeed and you must succeed whether the devil likes or not. Focus on your potential and not on your limitations. Believe it and say it. “with God on your side, you can do all things” Just as Apostle Paul said in the Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenenth me”
